D類滅火器

D類滅火器是一種專門適用于撲滅輕質金屬滅火器，如∶鎂、鈉、鋁、鉬、鋰、鉀金屬、或液態輕質金屬混合物（三乙基鋁、正丁基鋰、三異丁基鋰）的火災。由于此類物質是屬于輕質金屬及易復吸空氣中的氧氣和水分從而產生氧化可燃類氫、烷氣體，從而發生燃燒、。由于該類產品應有的特性所以一旦發生火災一般的滅火器材非常難將其撲滅，特別值得一提的是一旦輕質金屬發生火災千萬不能用水施救否則將發生更大的性災難。如果一旦發生此類火災將采用專業的D類滅火劑、D滅火器進行有效撲滅，萬一沒有儲備該類滅火器設備可以采用沙土將其隔離，覆蓋讓其自行燃燒殆盡防止災害進一步擴大。
